What will we get for the registration fee?

  • Friendly & professional drivers

  • Participant check in table

  • Music, lounge area and Team Photo

  • 2 rides around the track, one in each bike

How many people can participate?

16 total, with 8 team members per bike.

How far do we ride?

It varies by location and route, but generally about 1km per ride.

How long is the event?

The ride itself typically takes about 30 minutes. You should arrive 15-30 minutes before your scheduled ride time to ensure all waivers are signed, prepare for warm-ups and have a team photo taken. Some teams plan post-event activities—hopefully yours is one of them!

Where do we park?

You will receive an event day package with detailed instructions including the precise location of where to park and meet your team.

Do I need to be physically fit to participate?

The bike is similar to pedaling a traditional bike! You can make it a workout, or you can let others do the work. While the bike is pedal powered, it’s not overly strenuous. Please be aware that you do need to be able to climb onto the bike unaided.

What do we wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable athleisure clothing and sneakers.

What happens if there is bad weather?

We ride in rain, wind, and even snow! But if there’s lightning or other dangerous weather, the event can be rescheduled or cancelled. In the unlikely event that this happens to your event, a representative will liaise directly with your team’s captain.

Will my business be promoted?

Yes, there will be a sign with your company’s name on the INDYBike and sponsorship opportunities are available for an additional fee.

How long has this program been around?

INDYBike has previously supported a number of charitable organizations for the past 15 years. The INDYBike program is our innovative new way to provide a fun team-building experience with a little more competition at its core!

Can I bring my family?

This choice is up to you and your company to make.

Do I need to be really athletic to participate?

The bike ride is considered mild to moderate exercise, if you can ride a bike you can join!

Is there a minimum number of riders?

Ideally, the bike is full, so 8 riders for each of the 2 bikes (16 people in total), however a minimum of 4 people can easily get the bike moving.

My organization/company has more than 16 people who are interested in riding. Can we register more than one team?

Yes!

Is there an age limit?

For safety reasons, we cannot allow anyone under the age of 14 to participate. Anyone aged 14 years or older! Individuals aged 14-17 (or 18 depending upon the province) years can ride as long as a parent or legal guardian has provided signed permission on the waiver form.

What if there are COVID restrictions by then?

We follow all requirements as outlined by Public Health Canada and/or applicable Provincial regulations.

Can we participate in all weather?

In the event of rain, we will move the INDYBike Challenge ride to an onsite indoor ride space based on availability at that time.

What if we need to cancel?

If cancelling more than 90 days prior to your event day, a partial refund will be provided.  The partial refund is due to event costs and our commitment to charitable organizations.
